This direction of my graphite drawings began because of a power failure. In the dark, too early for bed, I decided to do some drawing without having anything particular in mind to work from. I lit a candle and used a ball point pen on used computer paper. The drawings arrived with a certain rhythm and unforced energy. Seeing them again in the morning I found drawing in this state of mind freed me from having to start with a subject. I proceeded with this series for close to one year.
These Morning Drawings together with my poems became a limited edition publication entitled Drawing On Words.
